First program on the air waves Friday 11/Sep/2009
The Australian Albanian Society of Perth Inc. hit the air waves with their first program this Friday 11th September 2009.
The Association incorporated in June 2007 with a registered office in Dianella aims to bring the Albanian Community together, assist people to find work, housing and maintain its culture by promoting regular family gatherings with a particular focus on assisting its older citizens.
The radio team will be headed up by Elvis Kopra from Dianella who is eagerly awaiting for the first program hitting the air waves this Friday 11th September 2009.
The decision to have its own radio program is a milestone in the future growth of the association.
Other radio team members are Bledar Dyrnishi from Mirrabooka, Andi Lena from Balga, Gjergyi Mullalli from Morley and Erion Dine also from Morley.
The radio team invite you to join them each and every Friday at 2:30pm for one hour of beautiful Albanian music, news, current affairs, community news and notices, requests and to share our rich cultural heritage.

Brief History of the Language:
TOSK is an official language of Albania mainly spoken in the southern regions of Albania south of the Shkumbin River. Tosk is also a language of Kosovo, Macedonia, Monetnegro, Italy and Serbia. It is spoken in Greece, along the eastern coast of southern Italy and on the island of Sicily, Turkey, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Sweden, Ukraine and in the United States of America as a result of migration. It is estimated that there are 3 million Albanians in diaspora speaking TOSK.

Whadjuk Radio is an Award Winning indigenous radio program on air on 6EBA-FM 95.3 World Radio since early 1997. Past presenters like Kylie Farmer, Ethel Wallam and Karla Hart have moved on with their careers and are now highly successful in each of their fields. Whadjuk Radio and 6EBA is proud to have played a small part in their success.

The Multicultural Radio & Television Association of WA Inc. held its Annual General Meeting this year on the 18th October 2009. The venue was the Floreat Athena Soccer Club where over 100 members, their guests and friends attended the meeting, followed by a luncheon prepared by the Club's chef Mr. Peter Kalogeracos allowing members to socialize, relax and catch up.
