June 2007

Producers Joe Kaldas and Soheir Khalil-Kaldas take time with their program guest belly dancer Tammy to take a photo with the Station Manager Helen.
Tammy gave a live performance during the program to the delight of station visitors and guests.

Once again Soheir Khalil-Kaldas Convener of Voice of Egypt Program and Joe Kaldas from the Middle East program had the pleasure to have the Lebanese singer Fares Karam live on air from 6EBA 95.3 FM On Friday the 21st November 2008. Fares came from Lebanon specially to have a one night show here in Perth at the Macedonian Centre in Balcatta. The Lebanese singer is well known to all Middle Eastern Communities. The interview was very successful on air with the singer wishing me a very happy Birthday and that made me very happy too, he was fantastic.

In the evening the party started with Perth Lialy Band followed by two of the best belly dancers in Perth. The stage was full with his own group of 12 musicians who came with him from Lebanon.  Without notice the star of the show came onto the stage with almost every one jumping out of their seats with applause, and standing in front of the stage to dance and listen to his fantastic strong voice.

The star was shone on the stage. I felt like I was looking at this incredible huge unusual diamond in front of my eyes except it was not just a magnificent diamond but the diamond itself had such an incredible voice too.

If you were in my place you would think the same. He sang and sang until well after midnight. It was such a fantastic night it will be remembered for a very long time.

I believed the next singer coming from EGYPT is very well known too and I will be the only one granted an interview with him on air too.

If you tune to Voice of Egypt on Friday 1.30PM and Middle East programs on Saturday 1.00PM and 8.00PM on 6EBA95.3FM you will know who my next popular guest is?

Cheers,
Soheir Khalil-Kaldas
