Dani Simpson:

Program Coordinator & Trainer

Dani Simpson was born in Manchester, England, the daughter of a Lithuanian father and German mother who were both living and working in post World War II England.
Her family emigrated to Australia in 1963 when she was 7 and she has lived in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane before settling in Perth more than 20 years ago.

Dani has experience in a number of disciplines. She has been a buyer for a large department store, a massage therapist, playgroup leader, permaculture gardener, a  full-time mother and is a registered nurse.
She gained a post graduate diploma in Broadcasting from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2006 and has been involved with 6EBA for 18 months.

Dani is currently the co-ordinator for the daily youth programs. While she initially was the main presenter, she has now trained a team of young people to produce and present the shows and is now the executive producer. She is responsible for all on-going training of the personnel involved in the youth programs and overseeing the content and delivery.

Dani also hosts a weekly program for seniors, both as producer and presenter. She has a number of guest co-hosts and the programme features interviews, music, news and current events, plus information and what’s on for seniors.

Dani is currently producing and presenting a 6 week series of weekly programs about domestic violence in conjunction with the State Government Family and Domestic Violence Unit. The show, “Many Women’s Voices” focuses on personal stories, what help is available and where to get help for this issue.

Dani is the mother of 3 grown up children and 1 grandchild, who she doesn’t get to see as often as she would like. Dani is married and lives in Perth’s northern suburbs and being a passionate gardener she is creating a beautiful garden full of flowers and things to eat. Her other pastimes include reading, health and fitness.

And last but by no means least Dani has a passion for radio.

Dani can be contacted in our Maylands Studio on (08) 9371 3325 or (08) 9371 2338 or by email to dani.simpson@mrtawa.org.au
