Our Volunteers:
Hello, my name is Goran Zbiljic. I am from the former Yugoslavia where I lived 30 years and where I was educated. I completed a Bachelor Degree in Education and completed various courses e.g. customs course, specialist driving instructor, also school of agriculture.
In the former Yugoslavia,  I worked in a range of  positions within both Federal and State Governments. I also contributed some freelance articles to the Serbian National Newspapers.

Since arriving in Australia at the end of 2001, I have completed several courses and currently am working on my Masters Degree in Education at Murdoch University. I am a member of the WA College of Teaching and the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

A couple of years after coming to this wonderful country, I joined the Serbian Radio Program Aleksa Santic as a volunteer presenter to assist in  working for the development of information programmes.
I feel strongly that the local identity of community radio makes it accessible to all types of people in any language group bring news and information from their locality and social networks.Community radio helps ordinary people gain access to relevant information bringing economic and social benefits as well as supporting a communities development.
It is important to our radio team to present and promote our culture while learning to appreciate other cultures by working side by side with them.  I like to share my knowledge and experiences with others the Aleksa Santic radio programmes are the perfect medium achieve this goal.

Programmes presented by community radio stations  help to preserve the language and cultural identity of a people. I believe in the positive impact  media plays in the development of people in general.

Furthermore, Multicultural Radio Stationslike 6EBA give people the empowerment of being part of the communication process on issues that may affect their lives. This in itself motivates them to help themselves and each other. I think People empowered with the ability to make changes makes for a richer community resulting in a more actively engaged civil society in which people feel at home and for which people feel more responsible.
