| Shinobi Burger is a youth radio show that plays Wednesday mornings from eight until ten on 95.3, 6EBA World Radio. Shinobi Burger inspects all things geek with reviews on graphic novels, video games, comics, anime as well as underground and independent music. Local comic book expert James, joins the team each week to review the latest and greatest in graphic novels and comics from around the world. |
Hosted by Gianni, Gerald, Pat, Jason and Chloe the show aims to illustrate and discuss many of Perth's often forgotten or under-respected sub cultures and entertainment media such as comic books, video games, Japanese anime, films, 'underground' music and more. In addition to encouraging an enjoyment of these activities and providing helpful specific information, Shinobi Burger also strives to fight for the cultural legitimacy of these art forms by illustrating the extent to which they represent text's that often present a valid and powerful message about society and the very fabric of our lives. All this aside, it's just fun to come into a radio station and talk to anyone who will listen about what's cool, new and exciting, as well as fight the good fight by spreading the buzz about the comics, anime, games, music and films that are just waiting to be enjoyed by all.
Gianni Di Giovanni
Gianni is a second year radio journalism student at Murdoch University. He enjoys long walks on the beach, sunsets and general nerd-bagery. Gianni is profiting from Perth’s new geek chic movement. Right now his favourite film is Smokin' Aces, Ferris Bueller and in the anime genre, Gunslinger Girl. Gianni’s dream is to make a career of radio or just move to Japan and immerse himself in geek culture.
Gerald Lilywhite
Gerald explodes the geek myth with his hockey prowess, playing for Harlies in the Classic League (the hockey equivalent of the WAFL). Gerald is studying arts/commerce at UWA and is working on a number of novels in the fantasy genre. Gerald looks forward to a career writing for graphic novels.
