South Sudanese Students' Hour

Thursday 10:00am - 11:00am
Hi Listeners and Supporters of our Program. We are all happy to have your support throughout the year. We are coming to the end of the year 2010, and we would like you to continue enjoying and interacting freely with the program in 2011, requesting music, sharing good stories, etc.
Meet the Team
Hello Everybody, my name is Alex Lukare!I am one of the Presenters and Producers of the Sudanese radio program broadcast every Thursday at 10am on 6EBA 95.3 FM. I love doing the program because it gives us an opportunity to share issues with our people whether they be informative or educational. We always pay particular attention to items of special interest to youth.
During the program we invite our listeners to use the Station's talk back facility to share challenging issues. We recently oppened discussions on a topic dealing with marital issues in our culture. Did you know that when getting married in Africa the groom or the groom's family must pay money to the bride's family? This culture is very different from that in Australia and in the Western World. We discussed whether it was appropriate for us as Sudanese to keep these marital cultures or to adopt those of our adopted country.
During the program we play the very popular African music with plenty of drums, and will be happy to play your music request. Just call us on air during the program on (08) 9227 5953. We would love to hear from you and whether you enjoy our program too.
We sincerely thank the Management of 6EBA-FM for sponsoring us giving us the opportunity to broadcast to our small but growing emerging community.
